ALACHUA, FL, Jun 2 (VNN) — We are residents of Alachua, Florida. A thriving and diverse Krishna consciousness community located here.
There is a major ISKCON temple, the home of Sri Sri Radha Shyamasundara and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai.
There is also a temple gurukula and also a devotee-owned and operated State-funded Charter School, with free admission.
Vaishnava devotees of every age, color, shape, nationality, institution and opinion reside peacefully here.
There are over 150 Srila Prabhupada disciples, as well as 60 B.V. Narayan Maharaja disciples, plus disciples of B.S. Govinda Maharaja, as well as ritviks and others! Yes, there is something here for everyone.
There is a devotee-owned health food store and large vegetarian restaurant, as well as other devotee-owned businesses.
The cost of living is very inexpensive here compared with other sections of the country, and the weather is warm all year round.
There are many outdoor recreational facilities nearby. The Atlantic Ocean beaches are about 80 minutes away.
Anuradha and I are constructing a luxury townhouse development five miles from the center of Alachua, between NW Gainesville and downtown Alachua.
It is within the gated Turkey Creek / Plantation Oaks Golf Course community.
This is 15 minutes from the University of Florida, six minutes from a shopping center and eight minutes from downtown Alachua and nine from the ISKCON New Raman Reti temple.

All external maintenance - including roof repair, mowing, flower beds, gardening, internal and external pest control, insurance, tree service, road maintenance, sprinklers - is carried out by our residents association. There is a monthly fee for this.

The property tax figure can be discounted because as a homeowner who pays mortgage interest, you will receive an income tax refund you can apply towards the property tax. This means you will receive money from the government because you pay mortgage interest on your home.

The two-story units are already appraised at $130,000, so you have instant equity of $5,000. Property prices in the Gainesville area are rising at between 10% and 17% per year.
