 Dismore Spreads Word Of Tolerance

FROM EDGEWARE & MILL HILL TIMES

ENGLAND, Feb 5 (VNN) Hendon MP Andrew Dismore shared a bite to eat with Abhay Lakhani, chairman of the Bhaktivedanta Manor Foundation, and Sivarama Swami, head of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness on Thursday last week.
The duo visited Mr Dismore at his constituency office in The Burroughs, Hendon, to thank him for a campaign to bring religious tolerance to Hungary.
Mr Dismore had proposed an early day motion (EDM) calling for the Hungarian government to overturn legislation that recognised Roman Catholicism as the only religion in the country.
Mr Lakhani is chairman of the foundation which encompasses the Hare Krishna temple in Letchmore Heath the largest outside India.
He said: "Andrew Dismore put forward an EDM which 51 MPs signed asking: Should the Hungarian government be allowed to join the EU if it has such legislation in force?'"
He added that Mr Dismore was instrumental in getting the legislation overturned when the new Hungarian government came to power towards the end of last year.
