In The Name Of God

BY SYAMASUNDARA DASA

EDITORIAL, Oct 7 (VNN) — Since a time without beginning. Through unlimited births the jiva has passed to end up in this present position, just stop and reflect for a minute "unlimited births", so many millions & billions of different variegated species from demigods to head lice ! And in every single birth we are convinced " I am this body", not only that but I am the lord of all I survey. Imagine that a head lice jumping around chanting I am god, I am god, I am god. We may laugh but the harsh truth is that is our position, the only difference is we have a chance to awaken our dormant love for Krsna. If not then we are simply overgrown head lice that's all, not so important, just an irritation really and easily squashed.

This is a pretty heavy situation we have passed through so many human births from kings to beggars, we have been in every social status, every creed, color, position, sex and nationality. So many impressions, unlimited impressions, deep, deep rooted impressions. Every thought I think, every feeling, every action - just an illusion coming from a never ending store house of material impressions I call me. The importance I attach to my perspective, my feelings, my judgment, my opinion the only thing belonging to me in reality is illusion. How can I judge, how can I criticize, how can I preach? but all to readily I do.

I am this, that, I feel this, that, I think this, that NO. I am in illusion that's all. I criticize, condescend and judge but in reality all I do is perpetuate my illusion, with every single word & deed not meant for the lords pleasure I just throw more fuel onto the raging fire of my ignorance. All my gossip, all my pride, all my opinion, all my preaching what good is it ? If I have an apple & a knife I can cut the apple into pieces and distribute but if I have nothing what can I give ? Do I actually have Krsna consciousness that I can give it NO but my guru's better than yours, I am higher in tattva, he's a karmi and she's a mayadevi and so on... and so forth... W hen will all of this nonsense end when will I realize I am a conditioned soul and my vision is faulty. When will I have the dignity to say " I DON'T KNOW", instead of always being so cock sure in the name of god.

What is this Prabhupada line, iskcon line, rtvik line, gaudia line all throwing philosophical stones at one another its nonsense that's all, there is only one line and that's Mahaprabhu's line and the essence of that line is tolerance and humility not pride & arrogance. We all smugly insulate ourselves in self righteousness and conceit and quietly ridicule and condescend anyone not hiding in the same box of egotistical security as ourselves, but what's the reality we are all conditioned souls fighting each other under the pretense we are serving our guru. I can defeat you one says your defeated says another, he defeated, they defeated, she defeated. WE'RE ALL DEFEATED defeated in our attempts to become Krsna conscious because we never grasped the concept of humility.

There is so much fighting spirit so much positive energy but we are using it on ourselves, a little jnana a little sadana a few years practice and that's it we're philosophical genius's, shastric giants we forget that we have been slugs and head lice, sheep and donkeys for billions of births. So much capability is there so much possibility unified it could all be so different but pride is blinding and position intoxicating. Who is in the higher position really the karmi we condescend for drinking & smoking or the devotee so intoxicated with pride he is blind to the global effects of his actions. What is the point of millions of books going out if what we read paints a completely different picture to what we find. Who in there right mind is going to join the hare Krsna's when all they find is a bunch of overgrown head lice preying on each other.

Prabhupada was a gentleman did he teach us vaisnava aparadha? Did he teach us how to be proud, frightening, intimidating & insensitive? Of course not - nowhere - never. Prabhupada comes across through his books as trustworthy, dependable, sincere, a respectable devoted person, what a shock when you meet the devotees, some people must just keep on running.

I know the majority will see this as neophyte sentimental drivel or offensive garbage, "he's going to hell prabhu calls the devotees head lice" "yea he must be one of those Rtvik..... ISKCON...... Narayana Maharaja....... Gaudiya..... " But I don't care for your bewildered speculations I'm sick of being frightened to follow this path in case I end up like you. IN THE NAME OF GOD ITS ABOUT TIME THINGS CHANGED.
