Letters To Narayana Maharaja

BY ISA DAS

EDITORIAL, Apr 25 (VNN) — Hare Krsna

Dear Srila Prabhupada, please accept my humble obeisances.

I cannot understand why the relationship between you and Narayana Maharaja is being kept secret by the GBC? Why was H H Satsvarupa Goswami baned from seeing him? 100's of my senior godbrothers are being brought back to life by his reminding us of you, your books and our service to your mission.

Why didn't the BBT include your 100's of letters to Narayana Maharaja in any publications.

A small sample:

"Around 1980 ten or twelve letters were loaned for the ISKCON court case in Bombay.

They were very wonderful, detailed letters from Swamiji. The lawyer presented them as prime evidence to the Bombay court. The ISKCON devotees requested me to travel from Mathura to Bombay eight or so times to testify in Swamiji 's favor. One of his sons was trying to sue ISKCON, wanting its material assets. He claimed that Swamiji was not a real sannyasi because he was a vaisya and not a brahmana. He said that since Swarniji was a businessman, he was entitled to his father's inheritance.

I testified that Srila Swami Maharaja took sannyasa initiation in our Kesavaji Gaudiya Matha and that I had per- formed the fire yajna and Srila Bhakti Prajnana Kesava Maharaja, my gurudeva, and had given him the danda and mantras. It was all bona fide. I had to testify as their expert witness that according to the siddhanta of our line, Swami Maharaja was certainly in- cluded in that same line. I gave many arguments from Sat-Kriya-sara Dipika, the Vedas, Upanishads, and Puranas. If anyone from any caste does bhajana, giving up material life and all bogus things to become a servant of Krsna then he is qualified to take sannyasa.

Thus the case was won by sastra and by the evidence of those letters from Swamiji."
