When we're not so sure about who is a genuine guru or sadhu then sastra is there to rescue us from ongoing gloom. You point out that the GBC was, is and continues to be inconsistent in many ways, such as in its assessments of such gaudiya vaisnava sannyasi gurus as Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Mhrj (name given by Srila Bhaktiprajnana Kesava Mhrj) and Srila Bhaktiraksaka Sridhar Mhrj (name given by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupad). And like the LA Times your just giving out the news. I applaud your efforts to uncover facts and truths. If you don't do it who will? Everyone is so busy with their own life, what can be done, what can I do even if our gurudev was poisoned by a handful of raksasas dressed, disguised in dhotis 22 years ago? ISKCON is based on Prabhupad's voice. Yet today we see and read how Prabhupad's voice is being disregarded in favor of editors' opinions. Amazing but true. Case in point. I was present for all the Matchless Gifts lectures in July 1971, Brooklyn, New York, 439 Henry Street. I can recall portions of the lectures verbatim. Jayadvaita Svami was also there. So last month in LA after being given a copy I was shocked to find how much the book had been changed. So much of the impact, the juice, the freshness is gone. Dear Jayadvaita Svami, Don't become Dryadvaita Svami as many are now calling you. Is your idea to dry up all the nectar in our gurudev's books? You were also there when our gurudev was poisoned. I saw you crying on the final instruction video. I give you the benefit of the doubt that those tears were not crocodile tears. You saw how Prabhupad's hands and feet were swollen. These are symptoms of a poisoned body. The Talmud says that its a mitzvah, a good deed, a laudable act of bravery if an israelite killeth Srila Prabhupad. Why? Because he had many jewish-born disciples whose parents were extremely upset that their children had given up worldly pursuits in favor of serving the lotus feet of some Hindu God, especially in the form of idol worship. What could be worse? You spoke to me many things from time to time which I'd dare not repeat but please don't be a part of the dismantling of the manifest teachings of Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Svami Prabhupad. Please don't do this. Your first and foremost sisya from Holland, Kadamba Kanana Rasa-Parayana Svami thinks very highly of you but after speaking with him I found him to be chock full of misconceptions. Literally chock full. He couldn't be learning these things from you. You used to give such nice Bhagavatam and Gita classes back in 1971. What happened? What went wrong? Peer pressure? Back to Puranjan Prabhu, So I can't bring myself to blame any vaisnava outside of ISKCON for the deviations within ISKCON, specifically not the immature gopi-bhava tendency nor the zonal guru system and high vyasasanas of the past. Srila Sridhar Mhrj didn't even have a vyasasan for himself in his own main Navadvip Math! He never ever even slightly stressed such external things. Actually such discussions used to make him chuckle. I remember him saying and Bhakticaru Svami was also present living there at the time that: as the number of gurus increase, if you increase the vyasasanas more and more then there will be guru highchairs from the mountains to the sea. In this way he would joke and literally laugh at some of the outrageous proposals different GBC men would come and present before him. His sense of humor was similar to Prabhupad's and therefore they were so close. We cannot even imagine. Have to go. See you in May. Till then.
