EDITORIAL March 4, 1999 VNN3239 "Not Just Gringos" BY RUKMINI PATI DAS EDITORIAL, Mar 4 (VNN) — An answer to M.S. Dasa's letter of February 22, 1999. Dear Prabhu: I Agree with you but only partially, because the discrimination is not only against the "gringos" but against any persons that have sufficient intelligence as to challenge the "Mafia" that is being implanted in ISKCON-Miami. I am from Argentina and I am a Srila Prabhupada disciple. I was an initiating guru in ISKCON Brazil. Unfortunately Iskcon Miami has installed leaders, that had legal problems in South America, have even made death threats against me and are capable of defaming anyone with lies, any devotee that doesn't agree to accept corrupts authorities. I have received proposals for giving political support to the "Cossa Nostra" (as it is called by Kesava Swami). But as I did not do that, they threw me out of the temple and I had to ask protection from the police because the leaders of the Miami temple resort to violence. What you say in your letter is true but they are also discriminating against the Hispanics that are not in agreement with the way they operate. I want to make it very clear to M. S. Dasa that this way of acting is only characteristic of Kesava Swami and his "Cossa Nostra" (Mafia). We have received Hanumat Prasaka Swami very nicely in South America and other devotees, regardless of nationality, sex, race etc. We do not want that M. S. dasa thinks that the Latinos are not respectful. The case that occurred in Miami should be considered very seriously and the persons responsible for this racist acts should be sanction by the Iskcon society.
