Guru Puja Tradition

BY HRSIKESANANDA DAS

EDITORIAL, Nov 4 (VNN) — Q&A regarding guru puja tradition

1. In the Gaudiya Math(s), do they perform a daily gurupuja to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura?
---YES, BUT ONLY DURING ARATI. NOTHING SEPARATE.

2. Do they perform a daily gurupuja to the present initiating gurus in the Gaudiya Math?
---NEVER (but I don't know about now, with ISKCON men infiltrating the Gaudiya Math's and trying to teach instead of learn).

3. How is it arranged if it is done?
---IT WAS NEVER SEEN BY ME IN ANY GAUDIYA MATH (In over 10 different Math's).

4. Do they celebrate the appearance days of the present initiating gurus in the Gaudiya Math?
---YES, That is the only separate Guru Puja, once per year.

Srila Vana Maharaj didn't even have any Vandana for himself. And in every Gaudiya Matha I ever visited they always started with Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura vandana. I never heard any Guru-vandana for Tirtha Maharaj, Madhava Maharaj, Ashram Maharaj, or any other disciple of Sarasvati Thakura who were living. And there was never a separate puja like done in ISKCON.

Your servant,
