"Fighting Words"

Editorial (VNN) - by Papaharini dd

Re: Drutakarma's Chakra submission Hare Krsna! Just a note to remind you that the contents of Drutakarma dasa's submission to Chakra on how to treat the July 9th adherents, constitutes some of the following:

These are legally called "fighting words" and constitute a threat of bodily and mental harm. "Verbal assault with intent to do bodily harm." These threats of how those adhering to the July 9th order will be treated if they attempt to attend functions at the ISKCON temples, constitute blatant civil rights violations against freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

These threats constitute Civil rights violations against those devotees' personal right to practice their religion at their church. These threats constitute "strong arm tactics". These threats constitute the creation of an unsafe, rather, dangerous atmosphere for all devotees of any viewpoint. These threats constitute the inflammation of citing a challenge on a worldwide scale to those devotees that are not in line with the current guru system, and frankly, wreak of terrorism, gives "vent to vengeance" and is clearly textbook "vindictive".

Webster's New World Dictionary (1995) states that a "terrorist" is someone who uses force or threats to intimidate; especially as a political policy. Druta Karma's proposals for implementing immediate political policies that alienate or eliminate the participation of any devotees who adhere to Srila Prabhupada's instructions posed in the July 9th letter, are "inflammatory" and sectarian.

DRUTAKARMA: The time has come to draw the line in the sand. Any ISKCON authority (GBC, president, sannyasi) who is not prepared to publicly endorse and teach and practice what Srila Prabhupada says here should be removed from his or her position.

DRUTAKARMA: The time has come for ISKCON to make full use of every means of communication at its disposal to reject the ritvik heresy and to insure that there is no scope for the promotion of the ritvik heresy on any ISKCON property or among ISKCON's membership. I also propose that for the next year, the rejection of the ritvik heresy should be the major propaganda effort of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.

I propose in return that Druta Karma's vindictive criticisms of BOTH the GBC guru system and the Final Order be met with an open istagosti meeting in LA where he can mediate between representatives of those views he has so vehemently rejected without having offered his own solution alternative. The purpose of the meeting may be more for his much needed education; otherwise, the world audience is left with the impression that the man is making threats against the peaceful and sanctified shelter of the temple programs and Deities.
