EDITORIAL  Targeting ITV BY NRSIMHANANDA DASA EDITORIAL, Jul 18 (VNN) — Bhakta Jim, whomever that may be - or perhaps it's just a pseudonym - makes outrageous accusations without having inquired from us directly about our clearance of copyrights. He, whomever that is, is using assumption and accusation in his charge of hypocrisy. Moreover, the webmaster of Chakra should have had the courtesy of informing us of the pending article so that we could set the record straight before misinformation could be transmitted all over the world. This so-called "Bhakta Jim" refers to recent emails and internet postings. Though we have not had any postings in a couple of years that I can remember, perhaps we should start up the campaign once again since it seems some person(s) have perhaps gone on the offensive to try to justify their own use or abuse of copyrights. Or maybe they are just trying to relegate the entire issue as moot by inferring that "everyone does it." If "Bhakta Jim" had spent his money and creativity on preserving, organizing, and editing the Srila Prabhupada footage, produced the puppet shows that have been relished by children and adults alike for many years, documentaries, etc., then he could choose to subsidize the rest of the world and give them away for free. However, ITV has an obligation to continue to improve the quality and produce new material, and we are strictly following Srila Prabhupada's instructions to Yadubara dasa as to how to do that. Brahmananda and Gargamuni are continuing to bootleg any and all devotees dvd's, cd's, books, etc. They don't have to pay for any development costs, so they sell at cheaper prices (and lousy quality - just ask the customers). The GBC has made a resolution that no-one should purchase anything - illegitimate or legitimate - from the brothers in a full boycott of their business. The brothers are not allowed to sit on the vyasasana and speak or even speak in any official capacity at any Iskcon temples. Hey, "Bhakta Jim" - why are you targeting ITV that has created and preserved all the Srila Prabhupada materials? I can only guess that you are a voice for the brothers in trying to discredit us.
