EDITORIAL  Expressing My Saddness BY SHYAMA DEVI DASI EDITORIAL, Jul 22 (VNN) — Please accept my humble obeisances at the lotus feet of Sri Guru and Gauranga. All glories to His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivendanta Swami Prabhupad by whose mercy I was led to the lotus feet of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Pramode Puri Maharaj. All glories to His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Pramode Puri Mahara, my Srila Guru Maharaj. I am writing to express my saddness and confusion concerning the letter entitled "Rectificiation", by Sri Gopinath Gaudiya math. (July 7, 2002) Quoting from the President Acarya of Sri Caitanya Gaudiya Math, Param Pujyapad Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Maharaj, "I am grateful to Srimati Devamayi Devi Dasi for reminding me about my most Reverend Siksa Guru His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Pramode Puri Maharaj. To pray for His blessings by way of getting the privelage of writing a preface to the Holy Biography of His Divine Grace." The question arises in my mind - why would His Grace agree to write the preface of an unauthorized book? Before I agreed to take part in the publication of this book I saw a letter by His Divine Grace Srila Guru Maharaj to Srimati Devamayi Devi Dasi authorizing her to write this biography. Devamayi has many hours of conversations with His Divine Grace discussing this great and difficult undertaking. Included in the work are interviews with many contemporary Vaishnavs. Why is this Holy Biography considered unbonafide? Why are we godbrothers and godsisters, numbering at least 40, who assisted in this project now coldly referred to as "associates" of Devamayi? I am very sorry that something has gone wrong. I have been totally inspired and enlightened by a "A Life of Devotion." Devamayi's grandparents were disciples of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur. Her relationship with His Divine Grace was first established in childhood. I find it very unlikely that he would have made a mistake in authorizing her to write his biography. I encourage all aspiring Vaishnavs to read this Holy Biography of His Divine Grace. They will be very happy to obtain this wonderful treasure. I am hoping and praying that all this confusion and misunderstanding about this wonderful book will soon disappear. Please excuse me for any offenses I have committed.
