 Condolences For Tamal Krishna Goswami

BY INDIAN CONTINENTAL COMMITTEE
EDITORIAL, May 10 (VNN) On the passing of His Holiness Tamal Krishna Goswami, the members of ISKCON's Indian Continental Committee (ICC) were deeply grieved and shocked.
His Holiness Tamal Krishna Maharaj was one of the clesest disciples of Srila Prabhupada and one the most prominent leaders of ISKCON. In India, he was one of Srila Prabhupada's principal assistants in the early days of establishing the mission here. It was in Jaipur, India that Srila Prabhupada awarded him Sannyas in 1972 and gave him the title Goswami.
Although Srila Prabhupada personally managed almost everything in India, still, he counted on Tamal Krishna as his trusted assistant in important dealings.
Tamal Krishna Maharaj played a very significant role in all three of Srila Prabhupada's dearmost projects in India, Mayapur, Vrindavan, and Bombay. In particular on this 30th anniversary of the Mayapur Vrindavan Festival, we should all remember that it was he who Srila Prabhupada sent to acquire ISKCON's first land in Mayapur. More recently he was the main force behind setting up a new ISKCON center in Govardhan.
The ICC offers condolences to his many disciples in India and throughout the world, and pray that Tamal Krishna Maharaj continue to bless us from his present abode.
