Re Loving Exchanges

BY KACHORI MUKI D.D.

EDITORIAL, Apr 26 (VNN) — Dear Mahavegavati Prabhu, Hare Krsna.

Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Your postings on VNN are usually interesting, informative and make some good points. "Whatever Happened To The Loving Exchanges" is such an editorial.

May I add a little bit to it?

The behavior of Mahati d.d. Prabhu whom you call Sakhi dasi became extremely erratic. She would sit in the lobby of Sri Sri Radha Vrdnavana Candra's Temple all day long. She would say weird things to the guests and act very strangely.

“Jaisri d.d. is a serious, dedicated saintly Lady.”

New Vrndavana's management board tolerated this for 2 years. One day, her son, Jagadananda Pandit came from Morgantown WV to visit her. He was appalled. Her medicine just wasn't having any effect. It wasn't helping her.

His idea was to have Mahati temporarily committed to a hospital.

Numerous packages which Mahati received on credit begin to arrive from Fingerhut Corporation. Mahati started calling India and ran up her phone bill to over $1,000 in less than a month. Her son, Jagadananda Pandit visited her again. He called a halt. He initiated procedures for her to be committed.

Mahati "escaped" all right-just ahead of the law, creditors and her son's appointed doctors. She went to live with her friend Befia in Flushing NY.

Jaisri d.d. Prabhu has been close friends with Mahati for the last 20 years. Jaisri protected her and stood up for her in any and all circumstances. Jaisri petitioned the board to let Mahati return. Mahati calls Jaisri twice a week.

"Incidently, the authorities in New Vrndavana had also 'disposed' of another older mataji," your second story begins. Adara d.d. Prabhu sewed for Sri Sri Radha Vrndavana Candra for years. Expertly.

Adara not only made Their clothes. She made all of the numerous tapestries in the Temple Room, and the backdrops. Her contribution and service was regularly pointed out to guests who were then introduced to her.

Her deterioration from Alzheimer's disease got to the point where she'd ask, "Where is my son Dhira Lalita?" "He's making Laksmi in Washington DC so he can get a house and nurses for you," would be the reply. "Who are you talking about?" she would ask.

Adara couldn't remember anything from one moment to the next. Finally Dhira Lalita made the Laksmi and moved Adara to a nice house in Columbus near Ohio State University Hospital.

The beginning of your article has this quote from Srila Prabhupada, "We have therefore started the Krsna consciousness Movement to create an association of sadhus so that people may take advantage and become liberated. There is no other purpose for this Society."

Then your next sentence immediately minimizes the Person whom you are claiming to defend and represent. Prabhupada wasn't "trying" to create an association. He was faithful to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarawati's order, He was empowered by Sri Krsna and He was determined to do it.

You go on to say that Prabhupada purpose "is just not accomplishing it's objective." Why are you discounting and discrediting Him?

You have attacked Bhaktitirtha Maharaja, Malati Prabhu, and Pragosa Prabhu. These are all good, steady Devotees-initiated disciples of Srila Prabhupada-who have stuck with their service for 25 years.

Now you have completely misrepresented Jaisri's involvement with Mahati and Adara.

Jaisri d.d. is a serious, dedicated saintly Lady. Shame on you.

Hare Krsna.

Kachori Muki d.d.
