EDITORIAL February 20, 2000 VNN5516 Related VNN Stories The GBC And The GHQ BY (NAME WITHHELD) EDITORIAL, Feb 20 (VNN) — Call me slow, but I finally got the connection between the GBC and the GHQ. I thought till recently that they were merely connected by having three letter acronyms that started with the letter 'g'. However, after the recent leaks to VNN of the melodramatic resignations of two GBC members, the true connection dawned on me: it's the testosterone connection!
What else explains the two GBC men losing the intelligence and objectivity demanded of their positions and kowtowing to mysogyny? What else explains their biased and immature analysis? What else explains their illogical responses? What else explains the members of the OLD BOYS CLUB (GBC) taking so seriously the words of the NEW BOYS ONLY CLUB, GHQ? Yes devotees it is a clear case of hormonal imbalance. Now these emails about resigning: First off, who is leaking the GBC Discussions? Whoever it is, it seems they have a definite bias to satisfying the GHQ. Trivikram Swami? Military intelligence at work? Prthu? The vaseline factor? If I were a GBC, I'd firstly threaten to resign because my godbrothers (yes brother=male) lacked the INTEGRITY to keep correspondence private. But no, we won't see any of those kinds of resignations. Pigs will fly before ISKCON's leadership becomes that honorable. Speaking of resignations...how come none of the GBC threatened to resign over the prolonged ABUSE OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN? Back to the emails themselves. Sivaram Swami writes: As an addendum, perhaps Krsna Ksetra Prabhu can teach this lady that one cannot make such comments about Lord Caitanya's father. "(Dhkdd: Jagannatha Misra, Lord Caitanya's father, had eight daughters before he got his two sons. He must have had lots of illicit sex before, or...? )" Maybe Sivarama Swami missed Prthu's declaration to the world that lusty women and illicit sex are responsible for the birth of female children? Why no outrage at Prthu's comments? No resignations? Because of the testosterone connection! Instead of condemning Prthu's remarks, Sivarama Swami seeks to condemn someone who speaks out about against Prthus junk! Perhaps Sivarama Swami didn't know? How embarrassing for him to defend Prthu's crazy statements. Also, where did Sivarama Swami get that quote from? Did someone send it to him? Who? Will he be similarly outraged that Prthu made those horrible remarks? Will he be outraged that the GHQ didn't tell him that Dhyanakunda was ridiculing Prthu? Now, that would take some manly courage. Notice how Sivarama Swami refers to Dhyankunda dd: "perhaps Krsna Ksetra Prabhu can teach this lady." A macho challenge to a godbrother and an insulting "this lady" for a Vaisnavi. Testosterone connection again! Sivarama Swami suggested stoping all com conferences, but no need to be drastic. Start with stopping the GBC conference and see if things don't improve. Also don't read letters sent by people mistreat women. Sivarama Swami wrote: 1. When the "Vrndavana" issue came out the GBC Exec was quick to give an immediate public response to whatever they saw the issue to be. The testosterone connection is making him biased again! Abhiram's report shows that that was a good decision by the GBC exec, but maybe Sivarama Swami feels otherwise? Sivarama Swami concludes: According to sastra there are three steps to take in such circumstances. Cut out the offender's tongue - I cannot do that, defeat them with argument - that cannot be done over com and takes time, or leave the vicinity - that is the only recourse left; therefore I resign. "Cut out the offender's tongue"? Sivarama Swami is a GBC? A leader? A representative of Srila Prabhupada, and he thinks like that? In the year 2000? That is so scary. He is also a guru! Someone should tell him if he doesn't already know that his words are out for the world to see and that the manly thing to do is retract his statement immediately. He must print a retraction in case one of his disciples takes his words seriously or in case members of the public see this. How on earth did Dhyanakunda dd come to be accepted as an "offender"!? By what process, other than taking her words out of context and being influenced by a mixture of bravado and hate propaganda, did Sivarama Swami come to that conclusion? I hope that he read everything that Dhyanakunda wrote in context before he pronounced her an offender to the GBC conference. That is a very serious statement, and one that you think would have warranted some investigation by the Swami. This big GBC man also cannot defeat her because "that cannot be done on com and takes time." Seems his macho talk is only between the guys. When it comes to being a man in public he stumbles. It "cannot be done on com", "no time". Why not on com? Because others will see? (Testosterone fluctuating in front of others? Women?) Or you don't know how to preach? Why no time? You have time to get involved and be all huffety on the GBC conference. Seems that you had time to read the GHQ propaganda. You wrote four letters to the GBC complaining, but not one to Dhyanakunda? It is a pity that you didn't have time to read Dhyanakunda's letters in context as it would have saved you a lot of wasted time and energy. Bhakti Caru Swami at least states who got in his ear. All I can say is that I'm glad that he is a sannyasi and DOES NOT HAVE DAUGHTERS!!! If he did he wouldn't be so keen to associate with his GHQ buddies. In fact, I am sure that he would wise up to them very, very fast. Life as a sannyasi and philosopher must be nice. You can debate issues and make decrees but you never have to see firsthand the effects of the kind of hatred espoused by the GHQ. I thought that as a gentleman, he would be OUTRAGED at the actions and words of the GHQ. At least he was honest enough to say that he doesn't know Ameyatma. But we won't see any disgust or attacks on the GHQ from the GBC. We won't see that GBC losing any sleep over what the GHQ actually stands for. They are too busy "saving ISKCON" from the "offenders" invented by themselves to examine what is actually going on! They have replaced the actual issue of a group of men who want to exploit women with the issue of defending Srila Prabhupada (who was never under attack--as they would have known if they had read everything in context). We won't see any outrage or resignations over the real issues and over the fact that the GBC is being manipulated very easily by the GHQ. Yes, the GHQ is behind all this present fuss.
