Are Hollow Planets Indicated By Puranas And Prabhupada?

BY DHARMAPADA DASA

EDITORIAL, Feb 4 (VNN) — According to the Puranic descriptions, there is life and activity on all the planets. For example, in the Bhagavat Purana, Canto 4, Chapter 20, Text 6, a reference is made to the way in which Maharaj Prithu, a king of the Earth, paid his respects to visitors from various celestial planets, and then a reference is made to the inhabitants of the Earthly planets.

Now first of all, the reader will note that the text refers to " Earthly " planets, in the plural. This suggests that the Earth, called Bhu Mandala in the Vedic literature, refers to the planets along the plane of the solar system, as pointed out by Dr. Richard L. Thompson in his book " Vedic Cosmography." This in itself is interesting because we don't see inhabitants on any planets along the same plane as the Earth, i.e., the solar system. For example, we don't perceive inhabitants on Mars, we only perceive inhabitants on this planet.

“It is important for followers of the Puranic version to understand these statements so that their faith in other Vedic statements may not be shaken”

In fact, the Apollo astronauts have supposedly gone to the Moon and found no life there. Through their telescopes and space probes, NASA tells us that there is no life on the other planets such as Mercury, Venus and Mars either.

A C Bhaktivedanta Swami never agreed with such conclusions. In his purport to Text 26, Chapter 18, Canto 4 of the Bhagavat Purana, Bhaktivedanta Swami states that " According to the Vedic literature, it is not true that the Moon does not produce food or that no living entity is living there." In the purport to Canto 4, Chapter 22, Text 54, he writes: The Vedic literature, however, repeatedly informs us that the Moon is full of highly elevated inhabitants who are counted amongst the demigods. We are therefore always in doubt about what kind of moon adventure the modern scientists of this Earth have undertaken."

It is important for followers of the Puranic version to understand these statements so that their faith in other Vedic statements may not be shaken; in other words, in order to defend their belief system. We shall consider the difference of opinion between these Puranic statements and modern scientific allegations that the planets are uninhabited and lifeless by considering whether the Apollo astronauts ( astro-nots? ) really went to the Moon, whether or not there might actually be artificial artifacts on the Moon, and whether or not the key to understanding the nature of the Puranic statements lies in the fact that the planets are hollow.

Recently, there has been quite a bit of private investigation into the validity of NASA space probe and Apollo photographs. Much of these results appear on the internet. Apollo debunkers point out various photographic anomalies which seem to disprove NASA claims. For example, the rocket on the Lunar Excursion Module, which was supposedly turned off two meters above the surface of the Moon, created no disturbance on the soil underneath it. There is a famous photograph, taken from an elevated angle, of the astronauts ( astro-nots ) on the Moon with the hands free and the LEM in the field of the picture, but nobody there to take the picture. There are divergent shadows, although only one single light source exists on the Moon, the Sun. Glare is seen in the Apollo pictures, even though glare is caused by the atmosphere and the Moon has none. There are no stars seen in the Moon shots, and the side of the LEM away from the Sun is illuminated in many film clips, indicationing spot lights or such. Many of these types of Lunar anomalies are gathered together and displayed at: http://www.channel1.com/users/cci/fakedmoon.htm

The anomalies involving shadows are nicely displayed at: http://www.forteantimes.com/artic/94/moon.html

The reader will note pictures two and seven, especially.

In the purport to Canto 4, Chapter 18, text 26 of the Bhagavat Purana, it is noteable that Bhaktivedanta Swami rejects the idea that food is not produced on the Moon! There are pictures on the video of David Hatcher Childress entitled " Extraterrestrial Achaeology " showing obvious terracements, like the Incas used to use, and an extensive cultivated field, all on the back side of the Moon. At: www.kksamurai.com several anomalous, artificial structures are shown in enhanced photos which he has posted in the Moon section. www.anomalous-images.com offers a quantity and wealth of such research work.

Perhaps the key to understanding the difference between the Puranic version and the version of modern astronomers lies in two statements which Bhaktivedanta Swami made in the his purport to this article's opening text, the Text 6 from Canto 4, Chapter 20, of the Bhagavat Purana. A C Bhaktivedanta Swami, Prabhupada, mentions: In modern scientific society the idea is very prevalent that there is no life on other planets but that only on this Earth do living entities with intelligence and scientific knowledge exist. The Vedic literatures, however, do not accept this foolish theory. ... The Vedas give information that in all planets ... there are varieties of living entities ... We have information from the Vedic literature that in each and every planet, both material and spiritual, there are living entities of varied intelligence." How unusual that he mentions " in " the planets twice. In the English language, it is very unusual to refer to a population living " in " the planets. We always say "on." Could it be that the principal population of a planet lies in the planet's interior, and that, for example, the parks, lakes and lush vegetation described in the Puranas, in relation to the Moon, exist inside of the Moon, along with the residents? This would completely vindicate those puranic statements which seem so fantastic that they are unintelligible to us currently, and establish new found validity for the Puranic astronomical scheme of things.

Let us follow up on this idea and examine the following two pictures of Mars in order to see if a hollow planet is suggested. The reader should know that, according to the calculations involved in celestial mechanics, Kepler's equations, Newton's Law of Gravity, ect., if one planet is hollow, then they are all going to be hollow. Mars has been chosen as a sample for the simple reason that some good photographs are easily available. The first one is a Hubble image provided to me by Rodney M. Cluff, of: http://www.ourhollowearth.com

Of interest is the huge crater or depression at the North pole of Mars. This crater is approximately 725 miles wide; it is simply huge. The crater is very deep, also. Due to the angle, we can't see the center of the bottom of the crater, but from what we can see, the crater might be 100 miles deep.

And the reader will note that it is empty because some orangish ground can be seen at the bottom. The white on the inner crater wall could be clouds or possibly some residual ice. Which brings us to another point- this first picture is of the Northern Martian hemisphere in the Summer as the supposed " ice cap " ( we'll get to this ) has melted and the crater is empty. The picture below is of the same North Pole during the Winter.

It may seem rather odd to the reader that Mars should have such a huge depression right smack at the Northern pole; this depression stands out in an absolutely spectacular way in relation to the rest of the planet. But actually, what is more surprising is that Mars is only following suit because all of the planets seem to have similar depressions, right at a polar spot. Let us see how this is so. Venus has such a depression, which is also proportionately huge in relation to the whole planet, right at its North pole. It has quite a high rim going around it, causing a " polar collar " effect in telescopes. This is so in spite of the thick Venusian cloud cover. In fact, at times of good viewing/angle of vision, etc, the polar collar gets outlined by the clouds flat against it. One explanation for this effect, according to Jan Lamprecht, is that the clouds are getting sucked into the Polar opening. This writer has seen photographs of Jupiter and Saturn which show the circular shape of the planets flatten out quite a bit at the poles. On the Earth, Antartica seems to have such a depression, maybe under the ice, in an area where recent radar mapping returned weak resonances. Our planet's Artic area flattens out so much that Artic explorers of old used to get typically lost as the angle of the sextant readings indicated exagerrated distances covered. The Moon's curvature begins to slacken, ever so slightly, a third of the way from the Southern pole. This continues on down and culminates at the crater Malapert, which is 69 kilometers wide. This is a crater which also returned weak radar resonances, during the Clementine radar mapping mission, and has therefore been suspected by NASA of harboring ice. Could such weak resonances be indicative of polar entrances to hollow worlds? Hopefully by the end of this article, the reader will think so.

Back to our example planet, Mars, the traditional interpretation in relation to the ice caps is that they are just that - caps of ice Ð which accumulate during the Martian winters and melt during the Martian summers. Now, what is the significance of the fact that, in the Summer picture, the Northern crater is empty? Well, first of all it is unreasonable to assume that the ice cap principally consists of ice. How can we accept that such a tremendous quantity of ice could accumulate every year only to melt away again during the summer? How much water would have to quickly accumulate to fill a crater which is 700 miles wide and scores of miles deep? Where would such water/ice come from? Mars is presented to us as a dry planet, supposedly with no rivers or lakes. The Martian atmosphere is said to have only 2% of the density of the Earth's atmosphere, so it can't be laden with much moisture. And what would be the mechanism for so much moisture to be specifically deposited onto the Martian poles, the polar area only? And if the depression were largely filled with ice which melts, why don't we witness the water draining out and sloshing here and there. NASA

( Never A Straight Answer ) scientists tell us that the water may be quickly absorbed by cracks and crevices, such that we simply have never seen it drain, but there is a lot of water in question- is such an explanation reasonable?

The second photograph clearly indicates cloud cover over the Martian Polar area during the winter. Rather than being a strata of cloud cover over a thick ice cap, we can assume that the polar depression is principally filled by cloud cover- we have already established that it would be unreasonable to assume that so much water accumulates right at the poles, fills up the depression, and melts every year without being seen.

This means that every winter it is principally clouds which accumulate at and fill in the polar depression, and and stay put in that area without moving off this way or that. ( Some overspill is noticed ). Where does thick, heavy cloud cover come from on a planet whose atmosphere is only 2% of that of Earth's? And why does it stay put? The solid planet model does not explain the true nature of this phenomenon, the Martian ice cap as predominently clouds, in any suitable way. But the Hollow Planet Theory ( HET ) offers a tenable explanation. The clouds result from the warmer atmosphere from the interior of the planet in contact with the colder, outer atmosphere. No surface source could explain the accumulation of such a large quantity of atmospheric humidity centered in one specific place. The temperature difference, caused by warmer air from the interior, could pen the clouds in there, so to speak, and explain why the clouds remain at the polar area. The depression that we see, then, would be the threshold of an entrance to the interior of the planet.

The danger to established cannons ( to NASA ) is in interpreting the ice cap as cloud cover. From that point on a whole can of worms is opened, because the search for a plausible explanation leads to a Hollow Planet concept.

Note: The above NASA photograph of the Martian North pole was provided by Steve Wingate of http://www.anomalous-images.com

In conclusion, we can accept the words of the Bhagavat Purana verbatim, that King Prithu received the inhabitants of not only celestial planets, but even inhabitants from the other planets of our solar system. We can also give creedence to the explanation provided by A C Bhaktivedanta Swami, Prabhupada, who felt that agriculture takes place on the Moon, that there are living entities not only residing there, but " in " there and "in"all planets, and we may share his " doubts about what kind of moon adventure the modern scientists of this Earth have undertaken." We may confidently accept the Puranic version because we understand the hollow nature of the planets. This is something which we have been easily able to interpret from two NASA photographs of Mars because we have known what to look for, being empowered with a Hollow Earth understanding.

Jan Lamprecht has written a 600 page feasability study on the Hollow Planets Theory. There he exhaustively analyses a quantity of astronomical data in relation to the planets Mercury and Venus, far and away more throughly than we have been able to do in the space of this simple article.
