EDITORIAL January 28, 2000 VNN5357 Comment on this story More Solutions On The Practical Level BY PAPAHARINI DEVI DASI EDITORIAL, Jan 28 (VNN) — Another spring Mayapur meeting rolling around, and no viable solutions to the longstanding dilemmas that are plaguing the ISKCON, have yet been accomplished. I'm not talking about printing some resolutions or so-called directive laws. But actions, their record and result. I propose the following to all GBC and gurus for a transcendental clean-up of your bleeding disaster: A formal international moratorium for five years on all initiations for all ISKCON gurus. 24 hour kirtan in all temples for the next five years, starting this spring at Gaura purnima. A formal written statement signed by all gurus and GBC stating that all previously initiated disciples of the current guru system are told to take shelter of Prabhupada as their Diksa Guru (just as recently Jagadisha's and Harikesh's disciples were informally told), and that those gurus formally renounce their claim to those disciples as Hansadutta had done, by naming each disciple on record. The formal institution of and graduation from all the exams upto the Bhaktivedanta examination for all sannyasis, GBCs and gurus during this next five years, as per SP's desire. Once a year, for the next five years, during the above attention to the intensive study of SP's books, professional journal style articles should be submitted by each of the above to the entire vaisnava community, via the internet. Based upon these realizations and research, authors will take any and all questions posed by the international community, in defense of those findings. Regular attendance to the teaching of these examination topics will be maintained by the above at local college campuses, year round, through the 'department of continuing adult education' section of the courses offered at any campus. Regularly scheduled istagosis in all temples with topics already outlined by SP in his request for the exams leading upto the Bhaktivedanta exam. Any vaisnava already involved in the academic practices mentioned above, already knows these are standard assessment and evaluative tools for appropriately measuring progress in any field. The expected result of this "yajna" of hearing and chanting, is the natural emergence of the Varna-asrama dharmic principles for smooth management of society and cow protection. It's twenty three years overdue now, to re-acquaint the managers to the natural order of these instructions in a systematic fashion designed by Srila Prabhupada in his many purports and letters to devotees concerning the Bhakti-sastri exam and others. The management has yet to provide any formal plan for the retirement from those positions above, as well as for the retirement provision/inclusion of the original Srila Prabhupada disciples as old age in on the horizon. Now, I realistically expect that IF anyone gave these above suggestions any credence, they would first have to take at least a year to vote on their institution. So, instead, I just have to dare you all to do it (just a little pion woman), starting this Gaura-purnima. Show us, in measurable methods and terms that you are accomplishing these goals as a probation from initiating; just as you impose probation on so-called fallen acaryas. Impose this on yourselves and ring in the new millenium in grand style, creating auspiciousness where now only cow slaughter, guru endorsed homosexual pedophilia, payments to Russian mafia and other high-profile RICO felonies exist currently.
