EDITORIAL January 14, 2000 VNN5271 Comment on this story See The Fly On The Window And Miss The Landscape Beyond It` BY DEVARSIRAT DAS EDITORIAL, Jan 14 (VNN) — Hare Krishna dear readers, my humble obeisances to all of you Sri Sri Guru and Gaurangau Jayatah I just read Sriman Purus posting 'Acarya Kesari Sri Srimad Bhakti Prajnana Kesava Gosvami. His Life and Teachings.' Whilst reading the table of contents it became very clear to me how much so many devotees here in the west are missing. Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Maharajas disciples are so many, the Gaudiya Vaisnava society is so full of so many advanced devotees we could learn from. There are also so many nice devotees in Iskcon with their hearts and heads in the right direction. I would like to ask all the involved devotees, which are opposing Srila Prabhupadas God Brothers, which are after all Srila Bhaktisiddhantas disciples, ritvik and Iskcon alike to please open your eyes and understand that what ever Srila Prabhupada might have said many many years ago, does not apply anymore today, this is a fact, only people with a short vision still try to pour oil unto the fire to pursue their own political paths. Many spread and use Srila Prabhupadas words as if He wanted diss unity. We all preach that Gaudiya Vaisnavism is non sectarian and peacefull, so lets show the World and all opposing elements that we are united and have the proper vision and begin to practice our universal brotherhood as devotees of The Supreme Lord Krishna and His eternal consort Srimati Radharani. This is what we all trying to become, eternal loving servants of one and the same Supreme Lord. We only need to give up our sectarian dogmas and stop exployting Srila Prabhupadas words for our own political agenda. We need to realise the great love He actually had for His God Brothers. He surely would chastice anyone today, who still repeats His words after so many years. Especially in the face of the incredible preaching efforts and achievements of His God brothers we should be quit and work on establishing Lord Caitanyas Movement together. I apploud those devotees like Puru Prabhu or Hrsikesananda Prabhu who highlight the lifes and achievements of Srila Prabhupadas God Brothers,and the growing number of devotees which come out of the woods and see the light. We also need more devotees like Kundali Prabhu who is very capable in showing us where we are going wrong and whats wrong. All religions are like the facets of a multi-faced jewell, religious philosophies are different paths to approach God, this is what we are preaching. We understand that the philosophies of other religions are manufactured in a way for different people in different times and circumstances to help them to advance. Our work is to accomodate them and help them to rise further in their understanding of spiritual consciousness and lead them to Krishna. It is amazing that we are inviting other religions into our house and kick each other out. In the end it all boils down to one thing, ye yatha mam prapadyante tams tahaiva bhajamy aham mama vartmanuvartante manusya partha sarvasah "As they surrender unto Me, I reward them accordingly. All men follow My path in all respects, Oh son of Prtha. We need to get rid of our sectarian consciousness it has become redundant. We must apply our teachings practically and not box things in, my group your group, this is material and whoever preaches this way preaches material consciousness. Krishna wants our love and surrender, He wants to see that we can work together, do you think He wants it otherwise? Our narrow thinking has to fly out the window, their is no point of dwelling on the past, its like seing the fly on the window instead of the landscape. Krishna consciousness originates in the spiritual World, not in any organised institution, those are useful and needed, but they are created for one original purporse only, and that is to make the love, the truth and reality of God accessible to everyone. Everyone has a conception of God and we are there to expand on it. Srila Prabhupada was not a sectarian spiritual master, we can all agree on this. The members of the Parampara all come to establish faith and devotion to Sri Sri Radha and Krishna. All of them are like knights of devotion and they work together not in conflict but in harmony. Only mundane personalities undertand it differently and hold on to old news and have to stay behind because of it. We are our most importand allies in the war agaist mayavadism and atheism, maya is so strong and yet we fall into the trap and dont accept each other as friends. They are loughing about us and mayavadismm and atheism is spreading, much of it because people see the most important group of all, the vaisnavas are fighting and arguing. dadati pratigrhnati guhyam akhyati prcchati bhunkte bhojayate caiva sad-vidham priti-laksanam SYNONYMS dadati--gives charity; pratigrhnati--accepts in return; guhyam--confidential topics; akhyati--explains; prcchati--enquires; bhunkte--eats; bhojayate--feeds; ca--also; eva--certainly; sat-vidham--six kinds; priti--of love; laksanam--symptoms. TRANSLATION Offering gifts in charity, accepting charitable gifts, revealing one's mind in confidence, inquiring confidentially, accepting prasada and offering prasada are the six symptoms of love shared by one devotee and another. Srila Rupa Goswami Meant just for Iskcon ? Only for the Gaudiya Math ? Only for your group or camp or meant for all genuine vaisnavas ? think.. We need to come to this hightend state of awareness which helps us to neutralise the imperfections and material considerations we see and which is only possible if we are taking slokas as these serious. These verses, apply to all devotees, not only to my group or your group, this consciousness has to be extended to all genuine vaisnava groups, their leaders and followers. How can it be meant otherwise ? Those who can not see this are the ones working on the disunity of our family. Together with Srila Prabhupada, Srila Sridhar Maharaja, Srila Puri Maharaja, Gaura Govinda Maharaja,Srila Vana Maharaja and many others, Srila Narayana Maharaja is also an eternally liberated soul. It is not His intention to take over Iskcon as many suppose. He is desireless materially speaking and His only desire is to help the many devotees which are struggeling at this time. He has never put Him Self forward as the next acharya in line from Prabhupada. To suggest this would be very wrong and offensive. He has no desire to outshine Srila Prabhupada or to replace Him or to imitate Him like so many other ambitious personalities have tried in the past. Srila Narayana Maharaja has come to bring sweetness to everyones hearts and the best way to honour Him is to accept it greatfully, respectfully and to give honour where honour is due. Srila Narayana Maharaja is spreading the sweet aroma of Vrindavan and the sincere devotees in this world should follow this sweetness right towards His Divine lotusfeet. Hare Krishna... and if you have not made a new years resolution yet, it could be to become an instrument to help fulfilling Srila Prabhupadas wish of an international alliance of devotees, all working together to bring about The Golden Age of Krishna Consciousness.
